Feeling preference means that an individual's base for decisions is mainly feelings and emotions. However, this affects more than just our calendars — at its core, this scale determines our attitude toward certainty and structure in our lives, both at mental and physical levels.
People with this type of personality are often described as deep and complex.
Judging J I use my decision-making Judging preference whether it is Thinking or Feeling in my outer life. Since this pair only describes what I prefer in the outer world, inside I may feel very planful or decisive which I am. Some situations, by their very nature, are complex, affecting systems or groups of people and so require large-scale decision-making, whether we like it or not.
Realize changes in direction are not necessarily impulsiveness. People with strong Judging preferences might have a hard time accepting people with strong Perceiving preferences, and vice-versa. When we are dealing with the world outside of ourself, we are "extraverting".
I like to keep plans to a minimum. These two categories are often confused and misunderstood. They are not the neater, cleaner, neurotic, uptight party poopers most people believe them to be. Having Extraversion score of greater than 0 - e. So what? Extroverted sensing also helps INFJs better live in the present moment, rather than simply worrying about the future. This is then supported by an auxiliary function which is another well-developed aspect of personality. Of course, this does not mean that the other group are lawbreakers, but if you see someone walk for five minutes so that they could get to the other side of the street using a crosswalk, they are much more likely to be a Judging type. It does not mean you are cold or calculating either. Everyone extraverts some of the time. We are extraverting when we: Talk to other people Listen to what someone is saying Cook dinner, or make a cup of coffee Work on a car We are introverting when we: Read a book Think about what we want to say or do Are aware of how we feel Think through a problem so that we understand it Within the context of personality typing, the important distinction is which world we live in more often. INFJs often do best in careers that mix their need for creativity with their desire to make meaningful changes in the world. I appear to be task oriented. We are using Judging when we: Make a list of things to do Schedule things in advance Bring closure to an issue so that we can move on We are using Perceiving when we: Postpone decisions to see what other options are available Act spontaneously Decide what to do as we do it, rather than forming a plan ahead of time Do things at the last minute We all use both Judging and Perceiving as we live our day-to-day life.
